The comedian Lee Soo-ji's parody of 'Daechidong mom' has inadvertently splashed some controversy onto Han Ga-in, while Lee has uploaded the second part of the 'Daechimom' parody video, leading to ongoing debate.
On the 25th, Lee posted a video titled '[Human Documentary: Good Kids] EP.02 'With the name Mom' featuring Jamie's mom, Lee So-dam's thrilling riding (aired on 2025-02-25)' on her YouTube channel, Hot Issue G.
This is the second video of the so-called Lee Soo-ji's 'Daechidong mom' parody that has recently attracted attention.
The released video features Lee Soo-ji transforming into 'Daechimom' Lee So-dam following the first part. Lee is seen enjoying brunch while boasting about her children, and reenacting the enthusiastic mom who is keen on her child's education by previewing the child's workbook in the car.
However, on the same day, the situation surrounding Han Ga-in, who received undeserved backlash due to Lee Soo-ji's 'Daechimom' parody video part one and ultimately made the video private, has led to increasing criticism directed at Lee Soo-ji as well.
Earlier, Lee Soo-ji attracted attention by releasing content portraying her as Lee So-dam (35), the mother of 'Jamie', a parent in the Daechidong academy area in Gangnam, Seoul.
Lee portrayed the image of a parent fervently invested in children's education, wearing luxury padding and bags known as 'Gangnam mom uniforms,' while giving her child riding lessons to academies, receiving a hot response as it reflects a common sight of mothers in the Gangnam area.
However, as Lee Soo-ji's video garnered attention, the luxury padding she wore in the video flooded the second-hand transaction platforms, and mockery and hate comments directed at 'Gangnam moms' ensued, resulting in several aftershocks.
In particular, the video that Han Ga-in uploaded to her YouTube channel in October of last year, which features her riding her children to and from school, received renewed attention because of this. Han's video shows her day spent parenting two children, starting with dropping her eldest daughter off at school at 7:30 a.m. and revealing a full-day riding until about 9 p.m.
Some netizens noted that Han Ga-in's appearance in the vlog is identical to Lee Soo-ji's 'Daechimom' parody, leaving mocking comments like 'I just came from watching Lee Soo-ji's video,' referring to her as 'overzealous mom.'
Particularly, based on the point that Lee Soo-ji's video thumbnail matches Han Ga-in's riding video thumbnail and the similarity in their children's names, there were suspicions that Lee intended to target Han in her video.
As negative comments reached even Han Ga-in's children, her side ultimately made the video private to protect them.
Amid all this, various opinions are emerging regarding Lee Soo-ji's uploading of the second part of the 'Daechimom' video. Some have reacted, saying it 'encourages hate comments,' while others claim it's merely 'social satire' and debate continues.
In relation to this controversy over the 'Daechimom' video, Lee Soo-ji responded to OSEN, saying, 'I ask you to contact my company or manager,' keeping her remarks brief.
