Comedian Lee Soo-ji meets 'true Daechi mom' Lee Min-jung. Previously, Lee Min-jung became a target due to a parody video of Daechi moms that implicated actress Han Ga-in, leading to suspicions of targeting. However, Lee Soo-ji maintained silence, making her meeting with the 'true Daechi mom' a point of interest.
Lee Soo-ji, who garnered attention for her uncanny synchronization on shows like 'Gag Concert' and 'SNL Korea,' continues to create parodies through her YouTube channel 'Hot Issue Ji,' while the Daechi mom parody has come under scrutiny.
The controversy began with the recently released video 'Human Fake Documentary: I Love My Child - A Unique Day with Jamie Mom, Lee So-dam.' In the video, Lee Soo-ji transforms into 'Jamie' mom Lee So-dam from the Daechi-dong educational district, showcasing herself wearing luxury padded outfits and bags, which are commonly referred to as the uniform of Gangnam moms, while taking her children to their academies.
After the video was released, there was a hot response suggesting it portrays a typical mother seen in the Gangnam area. However, drama actress Han Ga-in, who had previously released a video of her children's academy rides, also became a target. Suspicion grew that Lee Soo-ji was parodying Han Ga-in, and as negative comments appeared on Han Ga-in's YouTube video, it was switched to private, leading to a backlash.
After the controversy erupted, Lee Soo-ji told OSEN, 'Please contact the company or manager,' keeping her comments brief. Her agency stated, 'Since the channel is personally operated by Lee Soo-ji, the agency does not interfere. We wouldn't know what was being filmed if it were produced within the agency, so we have nothing to say.'
While Lee Soo-ji avoided discussing the suspicions regarding the targeting of Han Ga-in, she meets 'true Daechi mom' Lee Min-jung through a drama. Lee Min-jung, married to actor Lee Byung-hun, has one son and one daughter. It is known that her son is attending an international school in Daechi-dong. Recently, she participated in a school event as a parent and also shared the news of her son's basketball tournament victory.
According to OSEN's investigation, the drama in which Lee Soo-ji acts alongside Lee Min-jung is titled 'Okay, Let's Divorce,' and it marks Lee Min-jung's return to television after five years since 'Once Again.' The new drama, 'Okay, Let's Divorce,' covers the real-life divorce experience of a couple running a wedding dress shop, who are worn out from their marriage, and features Lee Min-jung, Kim Ji-seok, Ko Seung-hwan, Lee Hyun-jin, Wang Bit-na, Jeong Yi-je, and Lee Jin.
Lee Min-jung also welcomed the collaboration with Lee Soo-ji. When Lee Soo-ji posted about parodying an influencer leading a group buy on social media, Lee Min-jung commented, 'A famous influencer like you is appearing as an influencer in our drama. I'm really enjoying Hot Issue Ji. I'm thrilled when the hair dust remover works perfectly.' In response, Lee Soo-ji wrote, 'Haha, thank you, sister. Let's fight for 'Okay, Let's Divorce.' To this, Lee Min-jung replied, 'I want to do a group buy with Soo-ji.'
Meanwhile, the new drama 'Okay, Let's Divorce,' featuring Lee Soo-ji, is in full production aiming for broadcast in the first half of 2025 and airing on global OTT platforms.
