Actor Kim Seok-hoon, who is praised as 'Mr. Trash' for his love of the environment, will appear in the drama 'The Loving Thief' for the first time in 10 years.
According to OSEN's coverage on the 26th, Kim Seok-hoon will appear in KBS 2TV's new drama 'The Loving Thief.'
'The Loving Thief' is a romantic comedy historical drama in which a woman who accidentally becomes a thief and the soul of a great army general from Joseon exchange their souls, saving and protecting each other. It won an excellence award at the 2nd Drama Script Contest held by Studio Dragon in 2020, with a script written by Lee Sun.
Especially, 'The Loving Thief' stars Moon Sang-min, who has rapidly risen to prominence through 'Bulgasal,' and Nam Ji-hyun, who has showcased unique chemistry with male co-stars such as Ji Chang-wook and Do Kyung-soo in every project. As a fusion historical drama, curiosity arises about the performances of Moon Sang-min and Nam Ji-hyun, who have both excelled in the same genre with 'Bulgasal' and 'Mr. Queen.'
In this drama, Kim Seok-hoon plays the father of Hong Eun-jo, portrayed by Nam Ji-hyun. Hong Eun-jo is a character born to a noble father and a slave mother, acting as a 'female Hong Gildong' who steals from corrupt officials for the sake of the people. Kim Seok-hoon, who played the title role in the 1998 drama 'Hong Gildong,' is appearing as Hong Eun-jo's father.
Moreover, Kim Seok-hoon's appearance in the drama marks his first return to acting in 10 years since the drama 'My Mother' concluded in 2016. Since then, he has received acclaim as 'Mr. Trash' for practicing a lifestyle that reduces waste through personal YouTube content and appearances in MBC variety shows such as 'How Do You Play?' and 'Men Cleaning the Earth.' Expectations are rising for Kim Seok-hoon's revival as an actor in 'Mr. Trash.'
Regarding Kim Seok-hoon's appearance in 'The Loving Thief,' a representative from his agency Mystic Story stated to OSEN, "It is correct that actor Kim Seok-hoon was offered a role in 'The Loving Thief' production team. He is currently reviewing it positively."
'The Loving Thief' is expected to be scheduled as a Wednesday-Thursday drama on KBS 2TV this year.
