Singer Park Seo-jin brought out the janggu for his final stage.
On the 25th, in the final episode of MBN's 'Current King of Singers 2', the second round of the finals was broadcast, and candidate No. 3 Park Seo-jin received cheers as he brought out his signature instrument, the janggu.
On this day, Park Seo-jin visited Cheongnyong Temple in Sacheon to pray before the finals. He confessed, "I have often come here since I was young, so I feel at ease when I visit. It is also the place where my younger brother's 49th-day ritual was held. So I feel like my brother is welcoming me."
Earlier, Park Seo-jin confessed that he had experienced mental illness after being greatly shocked when his older brothers passed away 49 days apart while battling illness.
Afterward, Park Seo-jin revealed in an interview with the production team, "A senior asked me, 'Why do you play the janggu?' They said, 'Why are you lowering the dignity of a singer? Stop it right now.' They asked why I was doing something like a street performer."
He said, "I was really upset at that time, but now I think that those moments were what allowed me to be the Park Seo-jin I am today. I am not at all embarrassed to play the janggu," and he chose 'Heungtaryeong' by Imi-ri for the second round of finals.
Park Seo-jin stated, "I will do what I do best on my final stage," and prepared the janggu, delivering a mesmerizing performance that captivated the audience.
