Actress Noh Jong-ui returns as Ban Hee-jin, who is branded as a novice in romance.
The new MBC Friday-Saturday drama 'Bunny and Oppas,' set to premiere in April, depicts Bunny's quest for a boyfriend after her first romance has become a dark history, entangled with suddenly approaching attractive men. It is based on the Kakao webtoon of the same name, which has accumulated 170 million views.
In the drama, Ban Hee-jin, played by Noh Jong-ui, is the top student in the sculpture department at Yaein University, known by the nickname 'Bunny.' She maintains excellent grades with her inherited talent for craftsmanship from her parents, who excel in various manual skills, and her innate aesthetic sense that has an unquenchable thirst for beauty.
Bunny's aesthetic sense is also triggered in romantic situations, as she is irresistibly drawn to beautiful people. This led her to begin her romantic journey with the belief that the heart is more important than appearances, ultimately resulting in an unforgettable dark history and the label of 'love fool.' Curiosity grows about what might have happened to Bunny and whether she will meet someone to satisfy her aesthetic sense.
As attention focuses on Noh Jong-ui's transformation to portray Bunny's tumultuous campus life, she noted that she chose 'Bunny and Oppas' because it allows her to showcase acting she has not been able to reveal until now, expressing a desire to convey the freshness and sweetness of her age.
She introduced the character of Bunny as having a "bright and generous personality, with both a strong side and a delicate charm," expressing a unique enthusiasm by stating, "Since it's the first time to present such a bright and lovable character, I wanted to naturally express the sweetness that emerges, so I have been maintaining a high tension even in my daily life."
She added styling concepts, saying, "Although Bunny is an ordinary university student, she is a friend with good aesthetic sense and, since she is in the sculpture department, she wears comfortable yet pretty outfits. I usually tie my hair back while working, so I primarily use scrunchies to add a point of interest."
These efforts can be vividly seen in the released photos. Against the backdrop of cherry blossoms fluttering in the campus, Bunny's clear and lovely smile embodies the freshness of a college student. Furthermore, in a calm working pose while her hair is styled up, we can also see the professional side of a top student, making the anticipation for Noh Jong-ui's portrayal of the Bunny character even greater.
Noh Jong-ui, who is openly expressing her affection for 'Bunny and Oppas,' remarked, "Since there are many new faces in this work, I believe it can provide both unfamiliar excitingness and joy. We are diligently filming, so please give us a lot of love and attention," thereby increasing expectations for the first broadcast.
