The group BTS has dominated the Spotify charts with solo tracks.
On the 25th, the world's largest music streaming platform Spotify announced the '2024 Global Impact List,' which recognizes the most streamed Korean music overseas in the second half of 2024. According to this list, a staggering half of the top 10 songs are solo tracks by BTS members. Additionally, one-third of the 'Top 30' is filled with their songs, further proving BTS's tremendous influence. The chart tracks the songs of Korean artists most listened to by overseas Spotify users (excluding Korean users) during the second half of 2024 (July to December).
Jimin's second solo album 'MUSE' has its title track 'Who' taking the top spot on the '2024 Global Impact List,' recognized as last year's top hit in the second half. Including 'Who,' a total of five songs from the album made the rankings, with 'Be Mine' ranked fifth. Jin's title track 'Running Wild' (sixth) and pre-released song 'I'll Be There' (eighth) from his first solo album 'Happy,' released last November, as well as 'Winter Ahead (with PARK HYO SHIN)' (ninth), sung by V and Park Hyo Shin, also placed within the top 10.
Additionally, Jimin's album tracks 'Slow Dance (feat. Sofia Carson)' (19th), 'Rebirth (Intro)' (22nd), and 'Interlude: Showtime' (28th), as well as Jin's 'Super Tuna,' released as a formal audio in October 2022 (23rd), and V's duet with Bing Crosby 'White Christmas (with V of BTS)' (26th) also entered the list.
According to the '2024 Wrapped settlement of account' campaign released by Spotify in December last year, BTS was selected as the artist with the most global streams among Korean musicians in the past year. Their songs were streamed a whopping 3.9 billion times over the course of the year. With this, BTS has set the incredible record of being the most streamed K-pop artist on Spotify for seven consecutive years since 2018.
