'Superman Returns' Woo Hye-rim and Shin Min-cheol revealed their love story.
On the 26th, the KBS2 entertainment program 'Superman Returns' (hereafter 'Superman Returns') featured an episode titled 'Every Day with You Is Beautiful,' depicting the daily life of 'Wonder Girls' Hye-rim and Shin Min-cheol.
That day, Woo Hye-rim's parents visited from Hong Kong. While having dinner with her mother's cooking, her father asked Woo Hye-rim and Shin Min-cheol, 'How did you meet back in the day? Did you date secretly from Dad?'
It turns out that the two first met at a gathering arranged by her father. Woo Hye-rim said, 'I went because Dad promised to treat me to something delicious. Everyone in the family was going, so I went,' and Shin Min-cheol asked, 'Would you have come if there was no steak?' Ultimately, Woo Hye-rim's father played the role of Cupid.
Woo Hye-rim said, 'That day, my oppa gave me his business card, so I contacted him first,' and Shin Min-cheol noted, 'While communicating with my mother-in-law, I heard that Hye-rim was waiting for my contact, so I reached out.' Since the two families naturally became close even before they became in-laws, Shin Min-cheol shared that he received a lot of help from his mother-in-law.
Her mother recalled, 'When we were in Hong Kong, I facilitated a lot of consolidations. I was worried since Hye-rim was alone in Korea for so long, so I hoped to accompany her like a bodyguard. She didn't know much about Korea, yet she was going to auditions alone. Every time she turned around, tears wouldn't stop flowing. I sat at the back of the airport bus, and regardless of whether there were people around, tears just flowed automatically and wouldn't stop. It hurt my heart after sending her off.'
Then, her mother became emotional and said, 'Thinking back on it now, it really hurts my heart. I wished I could have been like a bodyguard, taking care of her,' expressing her love for her son-in-law. The two have nurtured their love for seven years. Shin Min-cheol mentioned, 'I even went with her as a parent for her college interview,' revealing that he played the role of a manager.
Woo Hye-rim stated, 'It was psychologically comforting,' and added, 'It was just natural to go on dates, but rather, people thought I was with a manager and would ask to get autographs.' Then, Ahn Young-mi asked, 'Wasn't it a secret relationship during your Wonder Girls days?' and Woo Hye-rim replied, 'We didn't intentionally disclose it, nor did we intentionally hide it.'
In particular, Woo Hye-rim's parents expressed their affection for son-in-law Shin Min-cheol, saying, 'He is humble and polite; I could see that too,' and 'I like that he doesn't drink or smoke. He's like a tree that stands firm and unshaken. I really appreciated him.'
