Actor Jun Hye-jin noted her feelings about showcasing a different mother-daughter acting dynamic with senior actress Jo Min-soo, following Girls' Generation's Choi Soo-young in 'Riding Life'.
On the 25th, the production presentation for the new original drama 'Riding Life' from Genie TV was conducted via online live stream. The lead actors Jun Hye-jin, Jo Min-soo, Jung Jin-young, Jeon Seok-ho, and director Kim Cheol-kyu attended the event and discussed the work under the guidance of broadcaster Park Kyung-rim.
'Riding Life' is a drama portraying the life of a passionate working mom, Jung Eun (Jun Hye-jin), who, before her daughter's '7-year-old exam', entrusts her mom, Jia (Jo Min-soo), with her daughter's riding academy, showcasing the lives of three generations of mothers and daughters battling through the challenges of Daechi-dong. In this, Jun Hye-jin plays the role of Jung Eun, while Jo Min-soo plays the role of Jia.
Jun Hye-jin received acclaim for her mother-daughter acting with Girls' Generation member and actress Choi Soo-young in the Genie TV original drama 'Nam Nam' last 2023. Praises were showered for her performance, which displayed a friendship-like, sisterly relationship with her daughter. In 'Riding Life', she stars as Jung Eun, the daughter of Jo Min-soo.
Regarding her chemistry with Jo Min-soo, Jun Hye-jin said, "The senior mentioned it was awkward and challenging, but that's not true. She really matched well with her character, Jia. I was so glad as a fan to be part of this together."
He added, "As a fan, I wondered why the senior wasn't appearing much, but even though she's a mom, not a grandmother, she is surprisingly independent compared to the mothers we've seen in past works. I thought that bringing a professional, 'strong character' mom into it suited her well the more we went on with this project," he said with a smile.
In response, Jo Min-soo said, "When you mentioned chemistry, I almost joked that we breathed well together," and continued, "We didn't talk much, but I felt we understood each other. It felt like our on-set atmosphere was decorated in a different color."
'Riding Life' will air on March 3 at 10 p.m. on ENA.
