The new lovers of TV CHOSUN's ultra-realistic documentary entertainment show 'Lovers of Joseon,' Chaerina and Park Yong-geun, announced news about their delayed wedding ceremony and their challenge with in vitro fertilization. Additionally, charismatic leader Kim Tae-won of 'Resurrection' created a touching moment with a special date in Jongno, 20 years after his first meeting with his wife Lee Hyun-joo.
In the episode of 'Lovers of Joseon' aired on the 24th, Chaerina, who is known for the glamorous titles of 'the shortest time to sell a million copies in the history of the music industry,' '5 consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the music Top 10,' and '90s top star,' joined with her 6-year younger husband Park Yong-geun. Kim Guk-jin explained his connection with Chaerina from his time as a music show VJ and also shared his experience meeting Kang Su-ji at that time. When Hwang Bo-ra asked, "Was Kang Su-ji unattainable back then?" a defensive Kim Guk-jin retorted, "There was no one I couldn't reach."
In a VCR, Chaerina explained that despite being married for 10 years, they had not yet held a wedding ceremony. In 2012, Chaerina and Park Yong-geun were involved in the 'Gangnam knife attack incident' during a gathering with acquaintances. As a result of this incident, Park Yong-geun was in such critical condition that he received a '99% mortality' diagnosis in the emergency room, but fortunately, he survived.
However, there was a fatality among their companions at that time, which led Chaerina and Park Yong-geun to start their married life quietly without a ceremony, despite developing into a romantic relationship. In relation to this, Park Yong-geun noted, "From the time we were dating, I stayed at Chaerina's house for several months. It might sound strange, but we lived together with my parents," showing a shy demeanor.
The couple's scary first meeting became a topic of discussion. Unlike Chaerina, who confidently said, "My heart was racing from the start," Park Yong-geun revealed, "I met her through a mutual acquaintance, and I was scared. She came wearing a strange leather jacket," bringing laughter. When asked by the production team, "When did you start to like Chaerina as a woman?" Park Yong-geun blushed and evaded the question, creating a warm atmosphere.
Sitting opposite her mother, who lives with her, Chaerina revealed plans for a wedding ceremony and also confessed her intentions regarding in vitro fertilization, which she attempted but paused. Chaerina's mother, who fully supported her daughter's good news, said, "She hates being lonely and even calls me when she takes half baths. What if I go to heaven and Chaerina is lonely?" which tugged at the heartstrings.
Later, Park Yong-geun and Chaerina met with 'divorce moms' Min-gyeong, a member of Diva, and 'fiancée' Jeannie after a long time. When they announced the wedding news, Min-gyeong and Jeannie appeared more excited than the couple themselves, sparking laughter as they engaged in a 'bouquet battle.' Subsequently, a surprise scene showed Min-gyeong and Jeannie trying to book 'Jamsil Stadium' as the wedding venue, piquing curiosity.
Meanwhile, Kim Tae-won, the leader of legendary band Resurrection and known as the 'people's grandmother,' went on a date in Seoul with his wife Lee Hyun-joo, who strongly opposes their daughter Kim Seo-hyun's American fiancé Devin's 'Korean wedding.' Heading to Nakwon Arcade, where they had their first meeting during their youth, Lee Hyun-joo's caregiving skills were fully displayed. As Kim Tae-won reminisced, he recalled, "I felt that she was going to light up my life from the moment I met her," and he thought about how he fell in love at first sight with his wife. Later, at a four-cut photo booth they found while walking, Kim Tae-won took a date photo with his wife for the first time in decades, expressing, "We don't have any photos just the two of us. I felt joy taking photos today."
After moving to a cafe, Kim Tae-won directly asked his wife Lee Hyun-joo the reason for opposing their daughter's 'Korean wedding.' She revealed, "The three Kim family members tormented me too much," sharing her inner thoughts. Lee Hyun-joo had endured many years of hardship due to her husband Kim Tae-won's health issues, her son being diagnosed with autism, and her daughter suffering from severe depression. She later teared up as she reflected on her past, recalling how she couldn't give her daughter much attention while caring for her ill son.
To lighten the mood, the couple moved to the live performance venue upstairs in the cafe. When Kim Tae-won saw the guitar, he created an emotional scene by singing 'Scenery' live for the first time, a song that his wife loves most. Although a funny yet sad situation arose when Kim Tae-won got the lyrics wrong and his wife corrected him with the right lyrics, Lee Hyun-joo cried tears of emotion while saying, "(It was, rather) nice that you made me laugh." Thanks to Kim Tae-won's surprise event, she eventually permitted their daughter's 'Korean wedding,' resulting in a heartwarming happy ending for the family.
