Chaerina shared that she is preparing for a second child during the 24th broadcast of TV Chosun's entertainment program 'Joseon's Lover.'
Chaerina has now entered her 10th year of marriage with her husband Park Yong-geun. However, the couple, who have not had a wedding ceremony, recalled the time when they were embroiled in the 'Gangnam knife incident.'
Previously, singer Chaerina and former baseball player Park Yong-geun were at a bar in Gangnam, Seoul, with friends in October 2012 when they became embroiled in a conflict with a drunken patron. At that time, the patron swung a knife, claiming, "It's too noisy," and Park Yong-geun suffered severe injuries, undergoing a surgery to remove 44% of his liver. Notably, Cool's Kim Sung-soo's ex-wife, who introduced Chaerina and Park Yong-geun, was also present at the scene. Unfortunately, the knife incident resulted in a death, causing shock.
Chaerina noted, "When Yong-geun was taken away in an ambulance to the hospital, the pre-surgery diagnosis was a 99% chance of death," adding, "Fortunately, he survived, but since there was a victim, I did not want to make a big fuss about the wedding ceremony." Despite this, she now has the courage to hold a wedding ceremony after 10 years.
Changing the atmosphere, the couple revealed their two-story house, where they lived with Chaerina's parents. They then introduced various parts of the house, starting with the bedroom. In particular, they looked at their wedding photos, saying, "We did not have a wedding but only took wedding photos." Park Yong-geun also gave her a wedding photo frame as a surprise gift. They considered it their wedding photos, saying, "In a way, we attribute meaning to the wedding photos as our wedding."
Thus, the date they took their wedding photos, November 11, 2016, became the anniversary for both of them. Chaerina said, "Now that it's our 10th anniversary, I want to have a wedding ceremony that we have never had, even if it's just a modest one."
Her mother, who happened to be present, mentioned her daughter's unconventional wedding. When asked if she felt regretful, she replied, "A glamorous wedding would have been nice, but considering my son-in-law's injury, we didn't need anything extravagant," and added, "That's how it quietly passed."
Chaerina shared that, aside from the wedding, she is also preparing for a second child. When asked if she had any other plans, Chaerina said, "I have faced a series of failures, but I think of this as my last attempt and will challenge myself. I plan to try in vitro fertilization once more this year for the wedding, so because I have (frozen eggs) at the hospital, I will attempt IVF."
