The group ILLIT showcased unexpected competitiveness with their quirky charm.
ILLIT (Yoon-a, Min-ju, Mo-ka, Won-hee, I-ro-ha) released the eleventh episode of 'SUPER ILLIT' titled 'ILLIT even if frozen to death' through the official team YouTube channel on the 24th. 'SUPER ILLIT' is original content depicting ILLIT's challenges to become 'ZZANG' not only in singing and performances but in all areas.
Returning for the first time in 5 months, ILLIT held an athletic championship, termed 'A-Yuk-Dae,' and carried out unique winter sports missions. For their first competition, sports announcer Jo Jeong-sik and actor Park Jae-min, who had handled Olympic broadcasts and commentary, participated, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of actual games.
The player entrance was lively from the start. The commentary team introduced Yoon-a as 'the first idol with an exciting comedian character,' and parodied Min-ju's remark 'Today is very very special,' which became a hot topic during the 2024 MAMA New Artist Awards, eliciting laughter. The members showcased their determination for victory with a variety of poses.
All games took place on the ice rink, adding a unique fun element. The first round featured bowling, where a member on a sled acted as a human bowling ball. Mo-ka energetically pushed Yoon-a, even while falling, while Won-hee affectionately patted I-ro-ha's helmeted head, showcasing the members' chemistry.
The basketball match in the second round carried a gripping tension. ILLIT actively attacked in a game in which they threw the ball into a basket attached to the opponent's bicycle, while desperately fleeing to protect their own basket. As time passed without a winner, the members united to attack Won-hee, but Won-hee secured first place with perfect defense, earning applause.
The final round was held in pairs with staff, featuring a double points event, making it a do-or-die situation for the members. The atmosphere peaked as they reached their goals on sleds and played a game of synchronous speaking or transporting exercise balls. Min-ju entered the finish line first, jumping in joy.
As a result of the final score tally, Min-ju became the owner of the gold medal, sharing her thoughts by saying, 'Today is very very very special,' creating a complete narrative arc. Won-hee received the silver medal, while Yoon-a, Mo-ka, and I-ro-ha tied for bronze, and all the members ended the competition joyfully wearing their medals.
Meanwhile, ILLIT won three awards, including the New Artist Award and the Best Choreography institutional sector at the '1st D Awards' held on the 22nd. This brought ILLIT's trophy count to a total of nine, including six New Artist Awards at domestic and international ceremonies, proving their influence as the 'top 5th generation girl group.'
