Comedian Lee Soo-ji uploaded part 2 amid the controversy over the 'Daechi mom' video.
On the 25th, a video titled "[Human Documentary, Children Are Great] EP.02 'As a Mother' Jamie's mom Lee So-dam's breathtaking riding (aired on 2025-02-25)" was uploaded to Lee Soo-ji's YouTube channel 'Hot Issue Ji'.
"This video is a comedic adaptation that differs from the facts," began the video, which featured Lee Soo-ji transformed into 'Daechi mom' Lee So-dam, following the part 1 video released on the 4th.
In part 2, Lee So-dam shared a brunch with the production team and said, "Hearing Jamie pronounce 'thank you' and 'sheshe' accurately made me realize there really is a clear Chinese language moment. This friend is quite developed in language skills." He added, "There are many gifted moments, but it must be the mother who catches and expands on them. After all, we're parents."
Meanwhile, after receiving a call from a native teacher, he sadly noted, "Jamie's English private tutoring teacher said that Jamie had been successful with potty training but is now unable to control his bowel movements again." Getting back in the car, he showed that he was "doing advance learning for Jamie so that time isn't wasted. I'm checking ahead of time what might be difficult for Jamie in today's class by trying the problems myself."
The producer pointed out, "But you got everything wrong, didn't you?" Lee So-dam explained, "What we learned in school has changed a lot. Wearing a luxurious padded coat, referred to as 'Gangnam mom uniform,' she mentioned, "There isn't even time to eat," as she satisfied her hunger with a single gimbap in the car, while also showing emotion upon receiving news from the native teacher about her child's success in potty training.
Among viewers who watched the video, reactions praised Lee Soo-ji for perfectly embodying the 'Daechi mom,' calling it "perfect documentation." However, simultaneously, derogatory and mocking comments toward 'Daechi moms' surged. This unexpectedly spilled over to actress Han Ga-in. Han Ga-in, who is the mother of two children, had shared during her YouTube channel 'Free Woman Han Ga-in' last October about the riding moments of her children. She too had no time to eat and quelled her hunger in the car, leading some malicious commenters from viewing Lee Soo-ji's video to target Han Ga-in with negative remarks. Ultimately, Han Ga-in switched the video to private after her children were also affected by the negative comments.
In particular, suspicions arose that Lee Soo-ji might have created the video targeting Han Ga-in, noting similarities such as the thumbnail of Lee Soo-ji's video matching that of Han Ga-in's riding video and similarities in the children's names. In this situation, Lee Soo-ji uploaded part 2 of the 'Daechi mom' video on the 25th, leaving viewers feeling disappointed due to no significant statement regarding the issue.
