The emperor of trot, Song Ga-in, has become embroiled in controversy over her vocal ability.
On the 25th episode of SBS's entertainment program 'Shoes Off, Divorce is the Man' (hereafter 'Divorce is the Man'), Song Ga-in's new song was revealed. Her class as the only junior singer to receive a new song from Shim Soo-bong was evident. Song Ga-in stated, "Shim Soo-bong gave a song to a junior for the first time. She didn't even accept composition fees," adding, "I went directly to visit Shim Soo-bong. Her house is near mine. It seemed like she had a song prepared, so the timing fit well."
Song Ga-in's husky voice was a treasure not just in the trot world but in the music industry. Song Ga-in noted, "Originally, my voice is thinner, but it became thicker after performing pansori," adding, "I can produce a thin voice if I want to." In response, Lee Sang-min and others reacted with direct criticism, saying, "That's nonsense," and "It doesn't make sense at all." To this, Byun Jin-seop remarked, "You shouldn't provoke her like that. It doesn't make sense," causing Song Ga-in to impress Tak Jae-hoon and others by beautifully singing a melody from one of Shim Soo-bong's songs.
