In the latest episode of 'Ask Us Anything,' Seo Jang-hoon and Lee Soo-geun expressed their outrage over a daughter who is out of contact with her mother battling cancer.
Seo Jang-hoon and Lee Soo-geun were angry on the broadcast of KBS Joy's 'Anything Ask Us' on the 24th.
A guest, diagnosed with blood cancer and undergoing chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant, shared her struggles. She revealed that she has been unable to contact her eldest daughter for seven years, leaving them unable to reconcile. The mother said, "I want to meet my daughter, who has been out of contact, before my health deteriorates further."
She also spoke about her family affairs. After a long overseas business trip, her husband developed jealousy issues and even became violent when drunk, directing verbal and physical abuse towards their eldest daughter. Ultimately, they reached a mutual divorce. Later, the daughter announced her pregnancy to a Cambodian man just a year before graduation, and the guest shared that she held a wedding for her daughter's marriage. However, the divorced daughter ended up living with a partner.
However, after the divorce, the eldest daughter hid the fact that she was receiving child support from her ex-husband while living with her partner. Unaware of this, the guest received a message from her daughter's partner calling her "mother-in-law" and subsequently learned that her ex-husband was paying her 500,000 won in child support. Following that, the daughter had been out of contact for seven years.
Seo Jang-hoon lamented, "It's sad that she doesn't see her daughter, but there are some personality issues involved." Moreover, the daughter is in contact with her ex-husband, who had been abusive toward her. Seo Jang-hoon questioned, "What kind of situation is it that she is only in contact with her father after experiencing such violence that she even had to report it to the police? It's very strange." He added, "Is it really possible that she has gone without contact for seven years just because of this? Isn't there something wrong with her character?" The guest also expressed, "I feel like I raised her wrong."
Lee Soo-geun also reacted, saying, "Is there a reason to turn your back like an enemy? As a child, you should check in on your parents." Seo Jang-hoon commented, "Of course, there may be other circumstances we don't know of, but regardless of the reasons, that's not acceptable. The mother has been battling cancer for over five years. No matter how bad the relationship is, it is a child's duty to check on their sick parent. How could this happen?"
Lee Soo-geun added, "What is so important about money that one could do this (if all this is true)? If you're human, you shouldn't be acting this way." Seo Jang-hoon expressed his anger, stating, "If you live selfishly, you cannot prosper; remember that for your life. Don't regret it for the rest of your life and contact your mother," he urged.
