Admiration poured in for the island-style Chinese cuisine.

On the broadcast of MBC's 'Taking a Break is a Blessing' on the 24th, Chef Lee Yeon-bok completed an unprecedented island-style Chinese dish.

On that day, Kim Dae-ho, Lee Yeon-bok, Myung Se-bin, and Yang Se-hyung announced plans to open an island-style Chinese restaurant using seasonal oysters, rockfish, and octopus from the island. Earlier, even under the biting cold that froze the seawater, the members focused on gathering ingredients.

Lee Yeon-bok said he would make pickled radish using winter radish. He prepared the pickled radish by creating a sauce with salt, sugar, and vinegar after extracting water from gardenia, then cutting the radish, capturing attention.

Lee Yeon-bok took out cooking oil to start making Sichuan fried rice. However, the cooking oil was frozen, surprising those around him. This shows how biting the cold was on the island.

After heating the wok, Lee Yeon-bok added eggs and sautéed them. Then, he added rice along with sauce, shellfish, and various vegetables. He subsequently added the oysters and finished off the Sichuan fried rice. He also prepared egg soup with clams, making a complete meal.

After tasting the Sichuan fried rice, Yang Se-hyung exclaimed, "The umami flavor is really good." Lee Yeon-bok also expressed admiration, saying, "It’s tough to prepare the oysters, but it’s so delicious." Yang Se-hyung noted, "The cooking level of the oysters is just perfect."

Meanwhile, that day, Kim Dae-ho suggested catching octopus from the island to make jjambbong. He said, "The octopus is in season right now. It's bulking up." Lee Yeon-bok was also happy to consider adding octopus to various Chinese dishes.

On that day, Lee Yeon-bok surprised everyone by preparing sweet and sour rockfish, black bean sauce noodles, jjambbong, and fried rice for the guests to choose from.
