Actor Kim Joo-heon shared his thoughts on departing from "Ask the Stars."
As the cable channel tvN weekend drama "Ask the Stars" concluded its broadcast on the 23rd, Kim Joo-heon drew attention with his passionate performance until the end. In the drama, he transformed into veteran astronaut Park Dong-ah, once again proving his wide acting spectrum.
The character Park Dong-ah, played by Kim Joo-heon, was like an onion. With each passing episode, new sides were peeled away, bringing fresh enjoyment. Kim Joo-heon embodied the multifaceted character flawlessly, showcasing a presence befitting an "acting master."
In the early part of the drama, Park Dong-ah (played by Kim Joo-heon) was perfection personified. His three experiences in space reflected his excellent skills, and his relaxed and humorous demeanor added to the solid charm of an "adult man."
Later, he revealed a chameleon-like aspect in the face of love. A momentary foolish choice made his girlfriend Eve Kim (played by Gong Hyo-jin) turn away, serving as a turning point to see Park Dong-ah's different faces.
Park Dong-ah sometimes appeared as a regretful man capable of humbling his pride in front of love, and at other times as a protagonist of pure love who put his life on the line to save Eve Kim, who was stranded in space. His diverse characteristics not only enriched the story but also formed a key part of the development.
Kim Joo-heon gracefully portrayed the character's variations. This was possible due to his limitless acting ability and the finesse with which he captured various emotions and their degrees in each scene. It was a moment where his exceptional control of pace shone once again.
During this time, Kim Joo-heon shared his feelings about the conclusion of "Ask the Stars" through his agency Secret ENT. He began by saying, "After finishing filming and moving to broadcasting, the last episode of 'Ask the Stars' has ended."
Kim Joo-heon continued, "As with all the projects I participated in, 'Ask the Stars' was a work that left me with new experiences and learning." He expressed affection, saying, "I hope it was a work that brought enjoyment to you as well. Thank you all for watching until now."
Finally, he extended a sweet greeting: "Please take care of your health and always be happy," creating a warm atmosphere.
Having visited living rooms every weekend night through "Ask the Stars," Kim Joo-heon will appear in the play "Capone Trilogy," which opens next month, and plans to show great activity on stage this spring.
Kim Joo-heon will again take the role of Old Man, the protagonist of the play. His vivid acting and passionate energy are expected to fill the performance venue.
The "Capone Trilogy" featuring Kim Joo-heon will be performed at the Hongik University Daehakro Art Center Small Theater from March 11 to June 1.
