The showcase for the group Hearts2Hearts was successfully concluded.
On the afternoon of 24th, the first debut showcase of the group Hearts2Hearts was held at YES24 Live Hall in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul.
As excitement grew with the debut of a multi-member girl group produced by SM for the first time in 18 years since Girls' Generation, Hearts2Hearts officially debuted with its first single 'The Chase' on this day.
After completing the group photo shoot, a problem occurred when the stage structure prepared for the photo shoot began to creak and sway before starting the talk segment. As a result, the members hurriedly moved to the waiting room behind the stage, and it was confirmed that the showcase proceeded as scheduled due to a mechanical malfunction.
In the subsequent personal greetings, the youngest member Yeon opened by saying, "Hello, I'm Yeon, the youngest. Since it's our first meeting, I'm nervous, but I would appreciate it if you view us kindly," followed by greetings from all the members.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of SM Entertainment, making the debut of Hearts2Hearts particularly special. They previously appeared in a commemorative film for the 30th anniversary of the company, showcasing themselves. When asked about their intentions for debuting in such a significant year, Iaan noted, "I am happy and glad just to debut, but it is an honor for all eight of us to debut as Hearts2Hearts in this special year. Just as many seniors and staff members have supported us in establishing the company, we will strive to become 'the future' of SM with great music."
Member Carmen, who hails from Indonesia, shared her inspiration for dreaming of becoming a K-pop star: "I have loved singing since I was six years old. After watching Girls' Generation's 'The Boys' on TV, I thought it was so cool that I wanted to follow in their footsteps. I feel very honored and grateful to have passed the audition and to debut," she said, adding, "My family and friends congratulated and supported me. My sister seems to be really happy because she loves K-pop."
Regarding the achievements she hopes to accomplish after debuting, Jueun expressed, "First of all, we've thought about wanting to receive the rookie award in 2025," and added, "Since it's an award given just once in a lifetime, I really want to receive the rookie award. I also want to achieve first place on music shows. I will work harder to achieve these results."
Regarding the increased attention as an SM girl group, she remarked, "Rather than being pressured, I feel more gratitude. Thanks to the interest and support from many people before our debut, we were able to prepare with even more strength," and mentioned that their role model is Girls' Generation. In particular, Hearts2Hearts commented, "Just like our seniors from Girls' Generation, whose individual charms come together to create great synergy, we want to embody such qualities as well."
When asked if she received any advice from senior members of SM Entertainment, Stella responded, "I once met TVXQ's Changmin. He came up to me first to cheer me on and told me to 'keep fighting'. I want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to him."
They also opened up about their rivalry with the rookie girl group Kiki from Starship Entertainment debuting at the same time. Jiwoo stated, "Rather than feeling pressure, it seems we can have a positive influence while promoting together. Hearts2Hearts will work hard. Like our team name, we want to communicate with our fans and deepen our musical color while showing good performance in the future."
Meanwhile, Hearts2Hearts will release their first single 'The Chase', which is both the title track and debut song, along with the included track 'Butterflies' at 6 p.m. today (24th) across various music sites. They will also simultaneously release the music video for the title track 'The Chase' on the SMTOWN YouTube channel, making a strong first step toward their dreams.
