'Ask the Stars' Lee Min-ho and Gong Hyo-jin have completed their space journey. Gong Hyo-jin died after giving birth in space, and Lee Min-ho, who remained as an obstetrician, safely returned to Earth with his daughter, but lost his legs and vision due to long space living.

In the final episode of tvN's weekend drama 'Ask the Stars' (written by Seo Suk-hyang, directed by Park Shin-woo, planned by Studio Dragon, produced by KeyEast and MYM Entertainment), which aired yesterday (23rd), the story of the first parents in human history to have a child in space, played by Lee Min-ho as Gong-ryong and Gong Hyo-jin as Eve Kim, was depicted, providing deep emotion.

Gong-ryong, who learned about Eve Kim's pregnancy, earnestly requested the ground control center and succeeded in going up to the space station. Since this was the first instance of pregnancy and childbirth in zero gravity in human history, the ground control center and the members of the space station made all necessary preparations for the health of Eve Kim and the fetus. Expectant father Gong-ryong also did his best for the safe delivery of Eve Kim alongside the members.

Thanks to the efforts of Gong-ryong and the DAEWON members, Eve Kim gave birth to a healthy daughter, moving everyone. While the baby born in space was growing up receiving abundant love from all members, the future of humanity also reached a turning point, with the establishment of infertility treatment centers in space. Just like what Eve Kim's father had told her long ago, Gong-ryong also emphasized the preciousness of life to his daughter by saying, "Everything alive is a miracle," leaving a deep aftertaste.

'Ask the Stars,' which depicts the story of Gong-ryong and Eve Kim, a couple that left a significant mark in human history, garnered attention as the first space office drama set in a space station in the country. To faithfully recreate the microgravity environment inside the space station and the movements of astronauts, special equipment was introduced for the first time instead of wires, enhancing realism. Innovative filming techniques and direction were introduced by synthesizing the upper and lower body of characters with digital character sources, creating a free movement of the characters in a weightless state, arousing interest.

Additionally, the scenes of spacewalking unfolding in the vast universe captivated viewers with unfamiliar sights never seen before. To enhance the beauty of Earth viewed from inside the space station's cupola dome (observatory), they depicted the boundary between day and night on Earth and showcased the auroras, increasing the enjoyment of fresh landscapes.

Within a set full of CG effects and special equipment, the actors enhanced the immersion of the drama with realistic performances. Lee Min-ho (as Gong-ryong) expressed awkward gestures due to his unfamiliarity with zero gravity, showcasing the characteristic of Gong-ryong as a tourist newly arriving at the space station. Commander Eve Kim (played by Gong Hyo-jin) portrayed the journey of a perfectionist who doesn’t tolerate mistakes gradually changing as she meets someone she loves, delivering a variety of emotions.

Moreover, actors such as Oh Jung-se (as Kang Kang-soo), Han Ji-eun (as Choi Go-eun), Kim Joo-hun (as Park Dong-ah), Lee El (as Kang Tae-hee), Lee Cho-hee (as Mina Lee, Dona Lee), Heo Nam-jun (as Lee Seung-jun), Lee Hyun-kyun (as Han Si-won), and Park Ye-young (as Ma Eun-soo) intricately unraveled the relationships of the characters that traverse between Earth and the space station, filling the space office genre.

In this way, the completed tvN weekend drama 'Ask the Stars,' through the efforts of the cast and crew, concluded with warm tributes to all living beings in the world and closed the curtain on the space journey.
