On the 24th, the K-content online competitiveness analysis organization Good Data Corporation announced that the MBC new Friday-Saturday drama "Undercover High School" debuted at No. 1 in the TV-OTT drama popularity institutional sector for the third week of February. At the same time, the protagonist Seongangjun ranked first in the TV-OTT drama popularity grants category.
The MBC Friday-Saturday drama "Undercover High School" depicts the story of a National Intelligence Service agent disguising as a high school student to retrieve gold bullion from Emperor Gojong. Seongangjun plays the role of Jeong Haeseong, the ace agent of the National Intelligence Service, entering the operation in a school uniform instead of a suit.
The competitiveness of "Undercover High School," which ranked first, pushed down SBS's "Treasure Island" and tvN's "The Beast is a Black Dragon" to second and sixth places, respectively. This competitiveness is attributed to the protagonist Seongangjun.
In this regard, Good Data Corporation data producer Won Soonwoo noted, "Based on qualitative analysis of netizen opinions, Seongangjun was selected as the actor that best fits the male lead character among the three works," and added, "The positive response to Seongangjun's appearance and character in the drama has led to increased interest in the drama."
In addition, three Netflix original dramas made it into the top 10 for the third week of February. "The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call" and "Melodrama" ranked third and fourth, while the upcoming "Fully Convinced" garnered high pre-release responses to secure the eighth position.
Additionally, two OTT academy dramas, U+ Mobile TV's "A Good Competition" and "Study Group," both showed an increase in popularity compared to the previous week, achieving fifth and ninth places, respectively.
Meanwhile, the MBC drama "Undercover High School," featuring Seongangjun, airs every Friday and Saturday at 9:50 p.m.
