Broadcaster Kim Dae-ho, who is a former MBC announcer, declared himself a freelancer, while former KBS announcer Kim Seon-geun persuaded him not to transition to freelancing.
On the 23rd, during the broadcast of KBS2's 'The Boss's Ears Are Donkey Ears,' it was revealed that announcer Eom Ji-in was looking for former announcer Kim Seon-geun, who is now freelancing, for the mental training of announcers Kim Jin-woong and Hong Joo-yeon.
Eom Ji-in asked, "When it comes to freelancing, announcers like Jeon Hyun-moo and Jo Woo-jong are well-known, and announcer Jo Chung-hyun has family wealth. Announcer Do Kyung-wan's wife is Jang Yoon-jung. What does announcer Kim Seon-geun have? It's a mystery of the ages."
In response, Kim Seon-geun said, "I left for the money. I was shooting for '6 o'clock in My Hometown' when I got a call saying I had secured a subscription. I couldn't focus on the shoot. Between contract money, interim payments, final payments, children's education fees, and expenses for my parents, I was overwhelmed," adding, "I couldn't resolve it with a salary. I don't know what will happen once I leave, but there's a possibility of earning a little more. At that time, the 'Mr. Trot 2' audition came up. I left at that timing but got eliminated quickly."
Kim Seon-geun mentioned, "For a while, my revenue was 0 won. For about 4 to 5 months, half a year, I had no income," expressing gratitude that Jang Yoon-jung gave him 200,000 won, saying, "Seon-geun, there will be things you can use when you go out."
He continued, "I got through that period, but I was anxious and out of money, so I did part-time jobs packaging books and unloading packages. The longest I worked was at a laundry, earning about 100,000 won a day. Physically, I was okay, but during early morning deliveries, there were times the security guard wouldn't tell me the shared password, just wrote 'Call the security office.' If I woke the security man, he'd curse a lot. When I got home after work, I'd think, 'I worked really hard, but did I not work hard enough? Did I do something wrong?' and I cried a lot in the car," eliciting sympathy.
Kim Seon-geun felt a desire to return to KBS, saying, "If you have your position, you can leave. I was ambiguous. I was ambiguous in timing and recognition. So even after leaving, it was ambiguous. I should think carefully, or rather, don't think about freelancing."
Like Kim Seon-geun, Kim Dae-ho decided to resign from MBC for financial reasons. He resigned from MBC on the 4th. In the broadcast of MBC's 'I Live Alone' on the 31st of last month, he revealed, "Rather than quitting the company, I've been thinking about how to live a different life. I felt that I had to pay back what I received, but going through the 'Paris Olympics,' I realized I've done everything I could in various fields at the company."
After Kim Dae-ho conveyed his resignation through 'I Live Alone,' the process was completed four days later, making him a free agent. He shared his resignation letter on Instagram that read, "0204 Move Out," along with phrases like 'I'm going out to make money' and 'the moment change has come to my life.'
Unlike Kim Seon-geun, who resigned while receiving intense public attention, Kim Dae-ho announced a news of an exclusive contract immediately after resigning. He is affiliated with the group The Boyz and is associated with singers Taemin, Im Woo-jin, VIVIZ (Eun-ha, Sin-bi, Um-ji), Bio, Ha Sung-woon, Ren, performance director Kasper, Kany, singer and actor Lee Seung-gi, entertainer Lee Soo-geun, and Bad Villain, partnering with the parent company One Hundred of INB100, which includes EXO's Baekhyun, Xiumin, and Chen, to announce his official activities as a broadcaster.
In addition, he has announced his participation in MBC Every1's new entertainment program 'Great Guide 2,' and he is set to appear on MBC FM4U's 'Two O'Clock Date with Ahn Young-mi' on the 25th, quickly starting his activities after becoming a freelancer. As a result, Kim Dae-ho does not have to worry about '0 won income' for the time being.
