Previously, singer Chae Ri-na and former baseball player Park Yong-geun were at a bar in Gangnam, Seoul, with acquaintances in October 2012 when they got into a dispute with a drunken person. At that time, the drunken individual brandished a knife, saying, "It's noisy," and Park Yong-geun fell into critical condition after undergoing 44% of his liver's resection.
In particular, the former spouse of Cool's Kim Sung-soo, who introduced Chae Ri-na and Park Yong-geun to each other, was also present at the scene. However, unfortunately, the knife attack resulted in a death, causing shock.
Chae Ri-na cautiously began, "When Yong-geun was taken by ambulance to the hospital, the (pre-surgery) diagnosis was 99% mortality." Park Yong-geun said, "It was a very serious accident, everyone involved suffered a lot."
When asked about the trauma from the incident, Park Yong-geun said, "Initially, I had (the trauma), but now time has passed," and he added, "I don't like being in crowded places or open spaces since the incident." Chae Ri-na remarked, "Just being in the same space brought a lot of damage to me," and she expressed, "At that time, I felt a sisterly affection; if I hadn't felt that way, I wouldn't have been there, so I have feelings of guilt and regret from my perspective."
