Actor Lee Jun-young, a former member of U-KISS, has grown even further with 'Melomovie.'
Fashion magazine MEN Noblesse released a photo spread and interview with Lee Jun-young in the March issue on the 24th. In this photo spread themed around stillness and loneliness, Lee Jun-young created a cool atmosphere against the backdrop of the hotel interior and surrounding exterior. He perfectly showcased a variety of outfits, including a leather top, trigger jacket, and wide suit with elegant details, exuding a more mature aura with his unique charm.
During the interview following the photo shoot, Lee Jun-young discussed the Netflix series 'Melomovie,' which was released on the 14th. Noting that he had a relaxed month before his busy promotional schedule, Lee Jun-young said, "I thought, 'I was a person too,' and took time to reflect on myself." Regarding his personality, he stated, "I want to achieve more than 100% in everything I undertake."
Lee Jun-young revealed that he found it easy to empathize with his character Hong Si-jun in 'Melomovie' because he feels a similar longing and sense of insecurity as his past self. He added, "'Melomovie' is not just a simple melodrama but a story that deals with the growth and struggles of those in their 20s. It can provide a new direction for those standing at a crossroads."
Lee Jun-young continued by noting that breaking the stereotypes of being an idol-turned-actor was a challenge. He said, "My goal was to eliminate the bias against idol-turned-actors. Through that process, I gained greater motivation," adding that he wanted to create a more comfortable environment for his juniors.
In response to a question about the consolidation between dance and acting, he stated, "Both are forms of expression, so there are many similarities," and mentioned that he still enjoys dancing. He explained that "dance is an important time for self-reflection and gaining inspiration," which is why he continues to engage in both acting and dancing.
Following 'Melomovie,' Lee Jun-young is set to release three upcoming works, including the Netflix series 'Confession,' 'Weak Hero Class 2,' and the KBS2 drama '24-Hour Health Club.' He shared that while he feels excited and grateful, he also feels some disappointment, expressing his concerns about his future plans regarding military enlistment, saying, "I am preparing my future plans with a positive mindset."
