As the first girl group produced by SM Entertainment in five years since aespa, expectations mount. When leader Jiwoo was asked about her debut thoughts, she said, 'Honestly, I still can't believe we're debuting. Just like we've worked hard for this moment, we will continue to work hard.' Carmen followed, saying, 'I was waiting for the day of our debut, and I'm happy and grateful that it has finally come.' Eina expressed, 'Just like our team name, we want to connect with global fans and move toward a larger 'WOORIRO.'
That day, the members first talked about the album track 'Butterflies,' saying, 'As this is announcing our debut, dream and start are the keywords. Since both songs have different vibes, we hope you listen to them.' The members added, 'It's a warm and emotional song, capturing the moment we've all eagerly awaited. We felt we could do it more sincerely while recording.' Particularly, Yeon explained, 'Our image of moving toward our dreams was expressed like butterflies flying to find flowers.'
Regarding the title track 'The Chase,' Jueun said, 'It's an unfamiliar genre that I've never heard before. Since there are many beats, harmonies, and sources, I hope you pay attention to those parts.' Carmen stated, 'The more I listen to it, the better it gets. The unique sound base creates a dreamy and mysterious song, and I feel like there's a charm that draws you into somewhere, giving off a 'mysterious feeling' of 'The Chase.'
Jueun also expressed, 'Just like the lyrics of 'The Chase,' I tried to express the excitement and curiosity that comes with embarking on an adventure toward our dreams, and as an eight-member group, please look forward to our performance where we express flowers.' Eina also mentioned, 'There is a key move where we flip our hands when the mood of the song changes in the chorus.'
This year marks the 30th anniversary of SM Entertainment's founding, making Hearts2Hearts' debut particularly special. Notably, they previously appeared in a film commemorating the 30th anniversary, revealing their faces early on. When asked about their determination to debut in this significant year, Ian said, 'I'm happy and grateful just to debut, and it is an honor for all eight of us to debut as Hearts2Hearts in such a special year. Just like the many senior staff and employees who have supported and built the company, we will strive to become the 'future' of SM through good music.'
Additionally, when asked what inspired Carmen, a member from Indonesia, to dream of becoming a K-pop star, she replied, 'I've loved singing since I was six years old. After watching Girls' Generation perform 'The Boys' on TV, I wanted to follow them. I auditioned, got accepted, and I am so honored and grateful to debut.' She continued, 'My acquaintances, family, and friends have congratulated and supported me. My older sister seems really happy because she loves K-pop.'
Additionally, when asked if they received any advice from senior members of SM Entertainment, Stella said, 'I once ran into Changmin from TVXQ. He approached me first, cheered me on, and told me to 'keep fighting.' I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude.'
They also opened up about their rivalry with Starship Entertainment's new girl group Kiki, debuting at the same time. Jiwoo said, 'Rather than feeling pressured, I think it will be a good influence as we both promote. Hearts2Hearts will work hard. Just like our team name, we want to communicate with our fans and deepen our musical colors, showing better sides of ourselves in the future.'
Regarding the achievements they wish to accomplish after their debut, Jueun shared, 'First of all, we want to win the Rookie of the Year award in 2025. It's an award that is given only once in a lifetime, so I definitely want to get it. I also want to achieve first place on music shows. To achieve these outcomes, I will work even harder.'
Meanwhile, Hearts2Hearts' first single 'The Chase' will be released today (24th) at 6 p.m.
