In 'Good Day,' Hwang Jung-min shared his personal struggles honestly, along with the story of how he received the Best Actor award without a Best Supporting Actor nomination.
On the broadcast of MBC's entertainment show 'Good Day' on the 23rd, G-Dragon was depicted arriving at an LP bar.
That day, G-Dragon introduced the person he would meet as 'someone who provides enlightenment, a neighborhood hyung I like,' who was actor Hwang Jung-min.
G-Dragon mentioned Hwang Jung-min, who won the Best Actor award at the 45th Blue Dragon Film Awards. G-Dragon said, 'It's late, but congratulations,' presenting a bouquet, adding, 'I got emotional.' Hwang Jung-min said, 'This is my third Best Actor award at the Blue Dragon Film Awards, and I also received a Rookie Award for the film 'Road Movie,' stating, 'I haven't received a Best Supporting Actor award. I'm working hard to win one,' which brought laughter. G-Dragon joked, 'Did you get the Best Actor award right away?' and said, 'It seems like it would be tough to receive the Best Supporting Actor award. Even if you appear as a supporting role, you would be viewed as a lead.'
Continuing, G-Dragon told Hwang Jung-min, 'It seems like you live several lives through the characters that change with each work.' Hwang Jung-min responded, laughing, 'There are many roles that are trashy.' G-Dragon mentioned, 'I fell for the actor Hwang Jung-min because of the work 'A Bittersweet Life,' and Hwang Jung-min said, 'I pondered over character expression, and by chance, I suggested styling while flipping through a magazine.' Hwang Jung-min playfully added, 'Honestly, I act better when I'm in a supporting role than when I'm the lead. The lead has a sense of responsibility for the entire production; I just focus on my part as a supporting role because there's a lead.'
G-Dragon also said, 'I felt uncomfortable when I was solo; being in a group was more comfortable. So, during 'MAMA,' I felt comfortable here, and I gained a significant realization.'
At this point, Hwang Jung-min said, 'I have something serious that I am curious about,' explaining, 'Since I've become the protagonist (in my works), everyone around me only tells me that I am the best and doing well. I want to hear accurate feedback, but they don't provide good advice that helps with my acting. It's hard for me to judge my own acting.' In response, G-Dragon remarked, 'For this set of eight songs, I didn't set a benchmark for whether they are good or not.' He added, 'I don't know if it's luck, but I didn't create this with the idea that it would succeed. I wandered alone for a long time and came back after 7 years and 4 months.' G-Dragon also stated, 'Rather than focusing on doing well, I changed my criterion to whether or not it resonates with me; regardless of doing well or poorly, I feel less regret.'
