Actor Kang Tae-oh has excelled as the 'handsome potato' who is good at cooking, singing, and variety shows.

Kang captivated viewers with his warm humanity and unexpected sense of variety in the special variety show 'Potato Meal' that aired on cable channel tvN on the 22nd and 23rd.

'Potato Meal' is a special variety show that offers a preview of the upcoming 'Potato Laboratory,' which will premiere on March 1, featuring the concept of preparing and enjoying potato dishes at each meal over two days and one night.

Kang drew attention by showcasing a grilled sea bream dish he learned for 'Potato Meal.' He even went sea fishing to procure the sea bream, demonstrating his passion as an 'ambitious chef.' Kang showcased his hidden cooking skills by coming up with a spicy baby potato rib stew recipe on the spot.

During a break, Kang passionately sang 'The Moon of Seoul' while wearing sunglasses, delighting everyone with his 'push and pull' singing style. He continued to display his impressive variety skills with unexpected physical comedy in the potato field.

Regarding his comeback project 'Potato Laboratory,' Kang noted, "It’s a work that wakes me up. I'm usually slow at reading scripts, but I quickly read the first episode." He also candidly discussed his reasons for starting acting and his nickname 'the nation’s heartthrob who leaves a lingering feeling of disappointment.'

The tvN show 'Potato Laboratory,' starring Kang Tae-oh, tells the healing romantic comedy story of Kim Mi-kyung (played by Lee Sun-bin), whose life revolves around potatoes, and a cold principled person, So Baek-ho, who spins around her like a swirling potato. Kang will portray the character So Baek-ho, who is a cold principled person, showcasing a drastically different side from what was seen in 'Potato Meal.' 'Potato Laboratory' will premiere on March 1 at 9:20 p.m.
