In the TV CHOSUN extreme realism documentary entertainment program 'Chosun's Love Couple,' the reason why the couple Chaerina and Park Yong-geun decided to have a wedding only after 10 years of marriage is revealed.
On the 24th, in 'Chosun's Love Couple,' Chaerina and Park Yong-geun, marking their 10th anniversary, shared a heartbreaking past story that became the starting point of their romance with the production team. Watching the VCR, Kim Ji-min noted, "I think I know what this is. This was a really big incident," and immediately recognized it with a sigh. Chaerina recalled, "When Yong-geun was taken by ambulance to the hospital, the diagnosis was 99% death," reminiscing about the time he was involved in the 'Gangnam Knife Attack Incident.'
Previously, singer Chaerina and former baseball player Park Yong-geun were caught up in an altercation with a drunk person while at a bar in Gangnam, Seoul, in 2012 with acquaintances. At that time, the drunk person swung a knife, saying, "It's noisy," and Park Yong-geun suffered severe injuries, losing 44% of his liver. Notably, Kim Sung-soo from the group Cool, who introduced Chaerina and Park Yong-geun, was also present at the scene. Unfortunately, the knife attack resulted in a fatality, causing shock.
Chaerina reflected, "At that time, I felt that this friend liked me as an older sister. If I hadn't had that feeling, I wouldn't be here now," recalling the beginning of their romance, adding, "Fortunately, the surgery went well, and by the time he was discharged, he confessed to me." She expressed her affectionate feelings, saying, "At that time, I wanted to protect him. As we dated, our feelings grew deeper." Kim Ji-min agreed, noting, "There's nothing more grateful than being there when someone is in pain."
The reason Chaerina and Park Yong-geun did not hold a wedding is that, unlike Park Yong-geun, who survived due to a successful surgery, there was a victim who passed away. In this regard, Chaerina explained, "There are victims who carry pain, so let's live quietly and not stand out. For some, it's an unpleasant memory that they don't want to be reminded of..." explaining why they could not hold a wedding at that time. She added, "Now, I want to hold a wedding that we didn't have before," conveying to the production team the reason for deciding on a wedding for their 10th anniversary.
