[OSEN=Reporter Kim Chae-yeon] The drama '21st Century Great Man's Wife,' starring IU and Byun Woo-seok, is expected to air next year rather than this year.

According to OSEN's coverage on the 23rd, discussions are ongoing regarding the airing of the MBC drama '21st Century Great Man's Wife' (tentative title, written by Yoo Ah-in, directed by Park Jun-hwa) in the first half of next year. Meanwhile, there are plans to review the airing of the drama 'Judge Lee Han-young,' featuring Ji Sung, later this year.

'21st Century Great Man's Wife' depicts a romance between a woman who is frustratingly just a commoner despite being born into a wealthy family in a constitutional monarchy in the 21st century, and a prince who cannot possess anything, resulting in a sad story.

Byun Woo-seok takes on the role of Prince IAAN in the constitutional monarchy of the 21st century, serving as the male lead. IU plays the female lead, Seong Hee-joo, who was born with a silver spoon in her mouth, possessing stunning beauty, intelligence, and an intense competitive spirit, all part of the top-ranking 1st conglomerate family. The work, featuring IU returning with 'Poksak Soksida' and Byun Woo-seok, who caused a syndrome with 'Sunjae Upgo Tui,' is already generating anticipation.

In addition, news has emerged that director Park Jun-hwa is set to take charge as the main director, heightening expectations. Director Park has shown stable direction in the romantic comedy genre through works such as 'My Name is Kim Sam-soon,' 'Let's Eat,' 'What's Wrong with Secretary Kim,' and 'Alchemy of Souls.' Recently, he directed the tvN drama 'Love on a Narrow Bridge.'

Regarding the airing of '21st Century Great Man's Wife,' an official from MBC stated, 'We are preparing for the broadcast of '21st Century Great Man's Wife' (tentative title) with a target broadcast date of 2025; however, the scheduling is currently undecided.'
