It has now been a year since composer late Shin Sadong Tiger (real name Lee Ho-yang) passed away.
Late Shin Sadong Tiger suddenly left this world on February 23, 2024, at the age of 41.
His agency, TR Entertainment, expressed their deep sorrow in an official statement at the time, saying, "It is with a truly devastated heart that we convey this very heartbreaking news. Producer Shin Sadong Tiger suddenly left our side on February 23, 2024," adding, "We sincerely ask for restraint in speculative reports for the family members who must be in deep grief over this sudden sad news. We ask everyone to pray for the deceased's soul."
The sudden news of Shin Sadong Tiger's passing shocked the music industry and K-pop fans. In particular, the day the news broke was even more tragic as it was the day the group TRI.BE, which he had produced, made a comeback after a year. The TRI.BE members fell into deep sorrow and canceled their comeback activities that week, but later they carried on with their new album activities, honoring his legacy.
Late Shin Sadong Tiger was a hitmaker who led K-pop in the late 2000s and early 2010s. He gained significant attention for producing many hit songs, including the representative tracks of second-generation girl groups.
He produced numerous hit songs, starting from 4Minute's "Hot Issue," BEAST's "Shock" and "Breath," T-ara's "Bo Peep Bo Peep" and "Roly-Poly," HyunA's "Bubble Pop!", Troublemaker's "Trouble Maker," Apink's "No No No" and "LUV," "Remember," EXID's "Up & Down" and "AH YEAH," and "Ddal ddal ddal," to MOMOLAND's "Bboom Bboom," with these songs still receiving great love today.
Following that, he had been committed to music activities after taking on the role of chief producer at TR Entertainment in 2021, launching TRI.BE. The news of his passing came at a time when TRI.BE was achieving meaningful results, leaving many in shock and sorrow.
Singers who had worked with him during his lifetime also united in mourning by posting messages of condolence. EXID, who received much love for causing a reverse syndrome with "Up & Down," shared a handwritten letter expressing their heartfelt sorrow for him, while TRI.BE remarked, "He was a steadfast support who always stood strong behind us. We will never forget the music he gave us and all those moments created because of him, and we will remember him forever as we take the stage wearing white ribbons on our hearts."
Additionally, at the awards ceremony '2024 K World Dream Awards' held last August, late Shin Sadong Tiger was selected as the winner of the 'K World Dream Best Producer Award.'
