Baek Soo-ah, mother of Kim Seung-hyun, talked about her son and daughter-in-law.
On the 22nd, in MBN's 'Sokpul-i Show Dongchimi', Baek Soo-ah, mother of actor Kim Seung-hyun, recounted the story of how they overcame the crisis of her son and daughter-in-law's divorce together.
Baek Soo-ah said, "I don't think my son can be returned. Isn't returning a divorce? Instead of returning, I hope he can fix things and live in a way that suits me." She then shared anecdotes about her daughter-in-law Jang Jeong-yoon.
Baek Soo-ah said, "My son came to me because he had nowhere else to go. He said he couldn't live anymore. He came home late every day, drank alcohol, and hung out outside; that's probably why it happened."
Baek Soo-ah expressed her constant worry about whether her son, who is raising a daughter alone, would be able to get married, saying, "I feel sorry for my son, and thinking about him makes me cry." Baek Soo-ah noted, "While saying that, my daughter-in-law said, 'What can I do, Mother? I like Seung-hyun more.' I was grateful when she said that."
Baek Soo-ah said, "I told him to bear with it a bit because I would scold him," and noted, "I said that there are people like me. In the past, my father used to hang out outside and didn't care for the family. But I endured everything because my two sons turned out well."
Baek Soo-ah remarked, "I cooked for them, and after resting for two days, I went home. What could I do? Didn't you meet because you liked each other? I said there are people who have lived until now even if they didn't like their husbands," causing surrounding laughter.
Baek Soo-ah joked, "Honestly, I didn't like my husband. He was the one who clung to me to date," which made everyone laugh. She added, "I called my son and scolded him. I told him he should adapt to live. I said to my daughter-in-law that one day there will be a good day, so she should endure."
Baek Soo-ah noted that she finds Kim Seung-hyun and Jang Jeong-yoon, who currently have their second daughter and are living well, looking good together. She said, "Since a beautiful baby was born, when I go to see them, they smile at each other and are doing well with parenting. Seeing my son change diapers and give baths made me think, wow, he had such sides too."
