The fact that the decisive reason for 'witch' Noh Jeong-ui leaving the village may be linked to Park Jin-young's mother and Jang Hye-jin has been hinted at.
In the last broadcast of Channel A's weekend drama 'Witch,' the cursed fate of Mi-jeong (Noh Jeong-ui) is portrayed through her eyes. As the men who liked her suffered accidents or died, she was branded as a 'witch,' dropping out of school and staying at home. However, her only family, father Jong-su (Ahn Nae-sang), also suffers an unexpected accident. He was bitten by a poisonous snake while trying to save his daughter Mi-jeong, who was bitten, when he came out to help in the fields after a long time. Now completely alone, Mi-jeong, who has become the 'witch' that even killed her father, can only escape and leave the village.
The released preview video for the third episode reveals that Mi-jeong was not just leaving but was actually chased away. At the center of this is Dong-jin (Park Jin-young)'s mother, Mi-sook (Jang Hye-jin), which provides a shocking twist. Lying in the hospital, Mi-sook's face is filled with remorse as she reveals the deeply buried story, saying, "It was me who chased that child away."
Mi-sook was the amiable and generous owner of the local 'Bountiful Agricultural Chemicals' who cared for her son Dong-jin, as well as the surrounding neighbors. However, for some reason, she led the villagers to confront Mi-jeong, who was in tears, and Mi-jeong asks, "I will leave now." After the death of her father Jong-su, it raises questions about whether another incident occurred in that village.
With Mi-sook's shocking confession hinted at, the reason for the growing curiosity about the story is that Park Jin-young had previously made a surprising spoiler, stating, "Mother Mi-sook becomes the decisive motivation for Dong-jin to risk his life to unlock the witch's law." Dong-jin, having witnessed Mi-jeong on the subway after ten years as if it were a lie, thought there must be a reason for their reunion after such a long time. He decided to break the curse that still strongly binds her. This likely involves not only his deep love for Mi-jeong but also a story entwined with his mother Mi-sook.
The production team stated, "This week, the heartbreaking story behind why Mi-jeong had to leave will be revealed, along with the reason why Dong-jin desperately wants to restore Mi-jeong's ordinary life. Thus, Dong-jin will start to delve into 'the law of death' that Mi-jeong faces. From the third episode onward, the true mystery begins," igniting anticipation.
Channel A's weekend drama 'Witch' episode 3 will air on the 22nd, Saturday at 9:10 p.m.
