Juhyeon-wook won first place in 'Baek Jong-won's Les Misérables.'
In the ENA show 'Baek Jong-won's Les Misérables,' which aired on the 22nd, the final mission was a three-day practical store operation. The mission was to set up his own pocha and generate a net profit over three days.
Unlike Son Woo-sung and Choi Jung-hyun, who chose their menus before the semifinals, Juhyeon-wook noted, "I didn't contact the chef during the semifinals. I tried Korean cuisine once during the semifinals, and it led to a crisis. So, I reached out to my guiding chef," explaining his reason for giving up on Korean cuisine.
Chef Im Tae-hoon's assiduous efforts were displayed. He called Juhyeon-wook during the time for initial frying in preparation for the store and thoroughly instructed him on the method for cooking stir-fried eggplant, contemplating his techniques.
Chef Im Tae-hoon remarked, "Juhyeon-wook has always been outstanding academically. I thought there was a good chance he could succeed," and Baek Jong-won commented, "It's the real winning store when one opens in an unexpected place that hasn't gained notoriety, and as days pass, it garners word of mouth, leading to its success."
Juhyeon-wook's store was crowded from the beginning. The stir-fried eggplant, available for 9,000 won, was predictably popular. However, he encountered challenges. Slow turnover rates hindered progress, and the eggplant ingredients quickly depleting became a problem. Juhyeon-wook quickly thought, "Let's change from stir-fried eggplant to stir-fried shrimp," presenting a solution.
Meanwhile, Choi Jung-hyun and Son Seong-woo's stores began to catch up. Baek Jong-won remarked, "Cooking well and running a business are different," praising Choi Jung-hyun. Juhyeon-wook, whose wok skills had dramatically improved, did not lose any customers until the end. As a result, Son Woo-sung secured third place with a net profit of approximately 4 million won from sales of 6,675,000 won. Second place went to Choi Jung-hyun, boasting total sales around 7 million won and a net profit of around 4 million won.
The first place was Juhyeon-wook. He expressed, "I followed only Chef Im Tae-hoon. I thank the chef, and I'm also grateful to the CEO for creating this opportunity. I will go out as much as I've been supported," while tearing up as he shared his thoughts.
