Coupang Play series 'Office Workers' (directed by Kim Min and Kang Na-rae) will unveil an unprecedented office comedy tomorrow (Saturday) at 8 p.m., and the first episode preview has announced the grants of guest actor Hyeri.
Coupang Play series 'Office Workers' is set against the backdrop of DY Planning, a small marketing company in crisis, telling the survival story of MZs caught between AZ and GenZ.
In the released first episode preview, top star Hyeri, who is a leading figure in the industry and excels in acting, singing, and entertainment across various fields as a 'hexagonal actor,' gets offered to grant an advertisement for the so-called 'slow-aging lunch box' by DY Planning's CEO Shin Dong-yeob, leading to a series of events. Despite the longing of DY Planning's staff to recruit top star Hyeri as their advertisement model, the chaotic advertising meeting, where employees' unpredictable actions ensue, raises questions about whether this collaboration will succeed.
The dynamic interaction between DY Planning's employees and Hyeri, who switch between their main and side roles, is also a point to watch. In particular, Hyeri, who delivered a stunning performance as a father-daughter pair with Hyun Bong-sik in her previous film 'Victory,' will meet again in 'Office Workers' under a new context as an advertisement model and marketing manager. Along with the unique relationship between the two actors, the relentless barrage of questions from DY Planning's employees, who are disguised as real office workers, is hinting at an unprecedented 'caution against laughter' alert from the very first episode.
The main preview released shows a realistic office mood akin to any ordinary office scene, featuring the eye-catching visuals of unique employees. Starting with the frantic speech of CEO Shin Dong-yeob, who calls for corporate innovation, we see the employees, including Kim Min-kyo, Lee Soo-ji, Hyun Bong-sik, Kim Won-hoon, Ji Ye-eun, Cha Jung-won (Car the Garden), and Shim Ja-yoon (STAYC Yoon), showcasing their individual charms as they prepare for their distinctive performances.
Kim Min, the producer in charge, noted, "Viewers will be immediately immersed in the realistic performances of comedy masters in the office setting," expressing confidence in the cast's fantastic synergy. He added, "Unexpected laughter will unfold in diverse ways due to the fresh chemistry with Hyeri, the first guest, and the spontaneous ad-libs that lead to genuine reactions," revealing key points for prospective viewers.
With unexpected ad-lib shows from the cast and the brilliant appearances of star-level guests every episode, the ultra-realistic office comedy 'Office Workers' is set to premiere on the 22nd at 8 p.m. on Coupang Play.
