Actor Park Hyung-Sik shared his thoughts on competing with Seo Kang-Joon.
On the 21st, a press conference for SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama "Treasure Island" was held at the SBS Mok-dong headquarters in Yangcheon District, Seoul. The event was hosted by Park Kyung-Rim, with director Jin Chang-Gyu, actors Park Hyung-Sik, Heo Joon-Ho, Lee Hae-Young, and Hong Hwa-Yeon in attendance.
"Treasure Island" is a life-or-death revenge story in which Seo Dong-Joo (played by Park Hyung-Sik) risks everything to fight against the absolute evil that killed him after hacking a 2 trillion won political slush fund.
Park Hyung-Sik plays the role of Seo Dong-Joo, the head of external cooperation at Daesan Group's chairman's office. In a bold acting transformation, he noted, "Until now, I have often greeted audiences in romantic comedies, showing a positive and bright side. But this time, I think I can portray a character filled with ambition and greed, which I haven't shown before. I'm also happy to work with my seniors; it's not easy to meet like this in a drama. It was great to gather together with my seniors this time."
In particular, Park Hyung-Sik, who previously collaborated with Seo Kang-Joon in KBS2's "Family, We Are Like This," has maintained a friendship with him. However, this time, coincidentally, Seo Kang-Joon will return in MBC's new Friday-Saturday drama "Undercover High School," leading to a competition during the same time slot.
In response, Park Hyung-Sik said, "We played characters who often clashed then, and now we are facing off again. In fact, I have always supported Kang-Joon, so I hope he does well. Still, I hope our project does a little better, but I want us both to succeed."
