Actor Park Joong-hoon has announced that his father, the late Park Il-sang, has been designated as a national veteran.
According to the film industry on the 14th, Park Joong-hoon recently revealed this in a post on his social media network service (SNS), saying, "I received a notification from the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs."
He continued, "I recall my father often sharing stories of risking his life in battles against Chinese troops during his childhood," and added, "I am endlessly grateful and proud."
According to Park Joong-hoon, his father, the late Park Il-sang, fought in the Korean War as a soldier at the age of 21. He passed the officer candidate examination during the war and was discharged as a captain in 1957.
Park Joong-hoon noted, "Since my father and mother both qualify to be interred side by side at the national cemetery, it seems they will be smiling from heaven," and added, "I miss them so much today."
