Singer Koo Jun-yeob entered Taiwan carrying the remains of his wife, Seo Hee-won (Shu Shi-yuan), who died from acute pneumonia caused by influenza, Taiwanese media including the Liberty Times reported on the 6th.
According to the report, Koo Jun-yeob boarded a small charter flight departing from Haneda Airport in Japan the previous day with family members, including his mother-in-law, and arrived at Taipei Songshan Airport in northern Taiwan around 3 p.m. the day before.
The Liberty Times noted, "Koo Jun-yeob held a pink urn containing his wife's remains in his arms," adding that "despite wearing a hat and mask, his eyes were filled with sadness."
Seo Hee-won's younger sister, Seo Hee-je (Shu Shi-di), stated in a statement released that day, "My sister has come home," and added, "Respecting my sister's quiet and serious nature, we will not hold a farewell ceremony."
Meanwhile, it is reported that Seo Hee-won's remains will be placed in a memorial park in northern Taiwan.
