Designer Lee Sang-bong conveyed the feelings of singer Koo Jun-yup, who recently lost his wife, Seo Hee-won (Shui Shiyuan).
According to reports from the entertainment industry on the 5th, Lee Sang-bong posted a photo of Koo Jun-yup and Seo Hee-won on his social media account on the 4th and said he received a response from Koo Jun-yup saying, "I'm hanging in there."
He noted, "When I read the article about Seo Hee-won dying from pneumonia while on a trip to Japan, I thought it was fake news." He added, "I was so shocked that I texted Jun-yup, and he replied late at night."
He continued, "Thinking about how much pain is yet to come, I am worried about Jun-yup's sensitive nature. I can't even offer any comforting words. All I can say is to hang in there."
According to local reports in Taiwan, Koo Jun-yup's wife, Seo Hee-won, died while showing pneumonia symptoms due to influenza during a trip to Japan that coincided with the Lunar New Year holiday period on the 29th of last month.
Previously, regarding his wife's death, Koo Jun-yup, who expressed his sadness in an interview with a domestic media outlet, noted, "I'm not okay," and it is reported that he attended the funeral held in Japan and completed the cremation process.
Seo Hee-won, who gained recognition in Korea for her role in the Taiwanese version of "Boys Over Flowers," married Koo Jun-yup in 2022, a year after divorcing Chinese businessman Wang Xiao-pei, with whom she had married in 2011.
The two, who met at a Clon concert in Taiwan in 1998 and dated for a year before breaking up, have reunited after 24 years, drawing significant attention both domestically and internationally.
