Singer Gu Jun-yeop was with his wife, Seohuiwon (Shu Shiyuan), who was known as 'Taiwan Golden Grass,' during her final moments.
On the 4th, according to the entertainment industry, Seohuiwon's friend, Zha Yung-ji, shared on her social media the late friend's final moments, saying, "Brother Gu Jun-yeop said goodbye with a deep kiss. Our hearts were torn apart by his sobs."
Zha Yung-ji also released a photo with Seohuiwon and Gu Jun-yeop, stating, "I miss you. Didn't we agree to have dinner at our home after the Spring Festival?" She added, "You seemed peaceful and appeared to be sleeping as usual. It hurts my heart, but I had to let you go."
Previously, Taiwan's Central News Agency (CNA) reported that Seohuiwon passed away from pneumonia due to the flu while traveling in Japan. Currently, her family is in Japan conducting funeral procedures and plans to transfer her ashes to Taiwan after cremation.
Gu Jun-yeop and Seohuiwon met during a performance of Clon in Taiwan in 1998 and developed a romantic relationship, but they broke up a year later. Afterward, Seohuiwon married Chinese businessman Wang Xiaofei in 2011 and had a son and a daughter, but they divorced in 2021.
Gu Jun-yeop contacted Seohuiwon again after 20 years upon hearing the news of her divorce, and they married in 2022. Gu Jun-yeop mentioned during an appearance on a variety show that he was "the happiest man living his days."
