The production team of the tvN entertainment program ‘You Quiz on the Block’ discontinued the replay service for episode 170, in which Oh Yoanna granted, on Dec. 12 of last year. Currently, videos of Oh Yoanna’s segments are unavailable on platforms such as YouTube and Naver TV. Episode 170 of ‘You Quiz on the Block,’ in which Oh Yoanna granted, featured weathercasters from three major broadcasting networks, actors Son Seok-goo, and Professor Kim Bung-nyeon, among others.

Earlier, Oh Yoanna passed away at the age of 28 in September of last year. The Maeil Shinmoon reported that a 2,750-character will, written on 17 sheets of manuscript paper, was found on Oh Yoanna’s mobile phone, alleging workplace harassment. According to the Maeil Shinmoon report, the will contained complaints of workplace harassment from specific weathercasters.

According to reports, Oh Yoanna became a freelance weathercaster at MBC in May 2021. She began experiencing harassment from March of the following year. One colleague, who joined earlier, allegedly made a false report and pinned the blame on Oh Yoanna, while another weathercaster reportedly criticized her, saying it was inappropriate for a junior to correct a senior when she requested a correction on incorrect weather information.

MBC stated regarding the allegations of workplace harassment against Oh Yoanna that “the deceased never reported her grievances to the relevant department (Personnel Counseling Office of the Management Support Department, Clean Center of the Audit Department) or to the managers she worked with.”

Furthermore, MBC added, “If the deceased had officially reported grievances (such as workplace harassment) to the company, or even if not formally reported, if she had informed any responsible managers of her situation, the company would have certainly conducted a proper investigation.” MBC indicated that if the family requests verification of the facts based on the newly discovered will, it is ready to commence an investigation as soon as possible. Oh Yoanna’s family has filed a civil lawsuit against her workplace colleagues last December.
