Singer Nah Hoon-ah criticized the political sector during his farewell concert on the 10th, and on the 12th, he stated, 'There should not be division.'
That afternoon, at the 'Last Concert - Thank You!' held at the KSPO Dome in Olympic Park, Seoul, Nah Hoon-ah made a firm statement while singing one of his representative songs, 'Gong.'
He said, 'Listen well whether you are a member of the National Assembly or some governor. This small country is cut in half. But during elections, one side is deep red, and the other side is deep blue. These people are sitting around doing crazy things.'
He continued, 'If you give me time, I will say that all those from Gyeongsang Province should go to Jeolla Province to become members of the National Assembly, and all those from Jeolla Province should go to Gyeongsang Province to become members of the National Assembly, so that Dongsuh harmony should be achieved.'
He added, 'One should not divide recklessly,' saying, 'When my mother saw my older brother and me fighting when we were young, she beat us both equally.'
Nah Hoon-ah had previously made headlines on the 10th by pointing to his left arm and saying, 'Did you do well?' This was interpreted as referring to the current opposition party. The implication is that while the ruling party has made mistakes, the opposition is not without blame either.
In response, Representative Kim Won-i of the Democratic Party wrote on Facebook, 'Nah Hoon-ah is quite the comedian. Having received so much love throughout his life, if he had closed his eyes and mouth to the world's affairs, he should just leave quietly without saying anything, what is this meddlesomeness?' Former Jeonnam Governor Kim Young-rok also stated on Facebook, 'Though 'right' is a problem, if you speak of the 'left' with the attitude of 'did you do well?' where can we find justice in South Korea?'
Meanwhile, Nah Hoon-ah has been conducting farewell concerts nationwide for about a year since announcing his retirement from the music industry in February last year.
