Actor Park Seong-hoon apologized on social media for sharing a cover photo of a Japanese adult video and showed tears.
On the 8th, Park Seong-hoon conducted a media interview related to the Netflix series "Squid Game 2" at a café in Jongno-gu, Seoul. During the interview, Park mentioned the incident in which he shared a parody image of the Squid Game series that was related to Japanese adult videos on social media last month.
The cover photo of the adult video depicted women actors' nudity in explicit detail. Park Seong-hoon quickly deleted the image, but some netizens had captured the post earlier and spread it in online communities. In response to the ensuing criticism, Park expressed, "I felt the problematic nature of it as well after seeing it," and added, "Is it really right for such videos to be produced? Is there no direct harm to our team? I was concerned."
He continued, "I am still filled with self-reproach, regret, and reflection," and showed tears. He added, "Many people around me have sent me comfort, and I am grateful to them, feeling that I must repay that as I live on."
Park Seong-hoon said, "Experiencing this incident made me reflect on how great my influence as an actor is," and added, "Since I made the mistake, I would prefer the criticism to be directed at me (not the work)."
Earlier, Park Seong-hoon’s agency, BH Entertainment, clarified the controversy over the sharing of the adult video cover by stating, "The actor mistakenly posted a message received personally." They explained, "The actor, thinking it was an inappropriate image, saved it to share with the company representative but accidentally shared it instead."
