Actor Jeon Jong-seo shared recent photos on the personal social media (SNS) but deleted them after controversy arose.
The reason cited was that it was inappropriate amid the Jeju Air passenger plane disaster at Muan International Airport, which resulted in 179 deaths.
On the 30th, Jeon Jong-seo posted several photos along with the caption, “Shooting again today…”
The photos depicted Jeon Jong-seo posing in various positions inside a car. Jeon also shared lyrics, including “I know you are tired of loving,” “Even if there is no one to love,” “When the real thing grabs you, you will drown,” “You can't help falling in love.”
It was likely intended to update fans during the shooting; however, there was an opinion that posting selfies like this during the national mourning period, which extends for seven days until Jan. 4, was reckless.
On the other hand, there are opinions defending Jeon Jong-seo, stating that “forcing mourning is excessive.”
As debates ensued among netizens, Jeon Jong-seo eventually deleted the photos.
Meanwhile, Jeon Jong-seo is set to act alongside Han So-hee in the film “Project Y” (working title). This film is a noir set in Gangnam, Seoul, depicting the ambitions of two friends attempting a heist of $8 billion in gold bullion.
