Amid reports that actor Go Hyun-jung was unable to attend a drama press conference due to deteriorating health, past mentions of Go's health status on YouTube are being revisited.
In January, Go Hyun-jung appeared on YouTube and confessed in response to Jeong Jae-hyeong's question, about not having been in touch with the public, that Go was "too sick to even get a health checkup." Go added, "I was quite sick, more than I thought."
Go Hyun-jung continued, "I thought my illness was imaginary, thinking 'I can't possibly be sick, I'm just imagining things,' so I avoided going to the hospital because I assumed it was all in my head."
Go recalled, "I got used to enduring it. As time went on, the pain wasn't something trivial. I decided to undergo a health checkup and it turned out to be serious. I was in a condition where I couldn't undergo a health checkup; it was an urgent situation."
Go added, "Two hospitals collaborated on my treatment, and I thought I was getting better, but then I collapsed while walking. I asked passersby, 'I'm Go Hyun-jung, please help me.' After regaining consciousness, I received treatment at Asan Medical Center and stayed there for a while before being discharged. It was a turning point."
At that time, Go Hyun-jung did not disclose the name of the illness, stating only, "I have gotten much better now. I regularly visit the hospital and continue taking medication." Go also mentioned, "I meet with anyone interested in meeting after going through my illness."
Meanwhile, Go Hyun-jung did not attend the production presentation of the Genie TV original series Namib on the 16th. It was reported that Go went to the emergency room due to a sudden health deterioration. Representatives from Namib stated, "Medical staff advised that absolute rest and recovery were necessary."
Go Hyun-jung's agency expressed apologies for not being able to attend the scheduled events, stating that it was impossible to confirm the exact diagnosis.
