American pop singer Billie Eilish was hit in the face by a bracelet thrown by an audience member during a recent performance.
According to reports from foreign media outlets like Fox News on the 16th, Billie Eilish experienced this incident during a tour concert in Arizona on the 13th.
At the time, she was sitting close to the audience on the stage floor, singing 'What Was I Made For?,' the theme song of the movie Barbie and one of her hits.
Suddenly, an object resembling a bracelet flew toward Billie Eilish from a section of the audience. Videos released on social networking services (SNS) show her flinching and quickly turning her head after being hit in the face with the bracelet.
Billie Eilish momentarily stopped singing and grimaced. After a bar of music played, she resumed the song. At the end of the video, she is seen nonchalantly picking up the bracelet from the floor and tossing it to the side of the stage. Some audience members booed the person who threw the bracelet and shouted "Sorry" at them.
Incidents of singers being hit by objects thrown by fans during performances occur more frequently than one might think. American singer-songwriter Bebe Rexha was injured in the face by a cellphone thrown from the audience during a performance last year.
In an interview in June last year, Billie Eilish mentioned this issue. She said, "I have been hit by something on stage for the last six years," noting, "People are just doing it out of excitement, but it can be dangerous."
She added, "I have mixed feelings about these actions," noting, "I know it's an action that comes from love and they are just trying to give something, but it doesn't feel good."
