Amid confusion due to the impeachment situation, movements to slander celebrities who supported the impeachment of President Yoon Seok-youl or supported impeachment rallies have been detected. Some have created lists and reported them to the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in the United States, causing controversy.
On the 17th, the 'list of those in favor of the impeachment of Yoon Seok-youl' is spreading through online communities and social media services (SNS). Along with this, a link for 'reporting to the CIA' is also being shared.
The list includes the names of celebrities such as Kim Eo-jun, who was reportedly on the 'arrest team list' during the declaration of martial law, Lee Seung-hwan, who appeared on stage at rallies urging impeachment, and IU, Girls' Generation's Yuri, and NewJeans, who are said to have prepaid for rally participants.
In addition, the list includes names of film director Bong Joon-ho and writer Kim Eun-sook, who issued statements calling for impeachment, as well as many other celebrities who expressed their support for impeachment through SNS.
The CIA operates a separate reporting site, where incidents can be reported by entering an email address and phone number.
Some netizens have even posted verification shots claiming they actually reported to the CIA, encouraging others to 'join in.'
However, once this became known, reactions emerged questioning 'why domestic celebrities and officials are being reported to the CIA,' with mocking remarks such as 'why are they doing this' and 'it's embarrassing' also pouring in.
