Members of the group NewJeans congratulated Min Hee-jin, former CEO of ADOR, on Min's birthday through their social media account.
On the 16th, NewJeans members posted a congratulatory message saying, “DaePyu-nim! Happy birthday!” on the newly created 'Jeans for Free' Instagram account.
They added, “We hope you have a very, very, very happy day today,” and “Enjoy delicious cake and continue to receive endless love.”
After notifying ADOR of the termination of their exclusive contract, NewJeans members opened a new Instagram account on the 14th and are actively communicating with fans and the public. As NewJeans' first post, they demonstrated a unique gesture by prepaying for gimbap, coffee, and samgyetang for fans and the public attending a candlelight rally in Yeouido.
Previously, on the 28th of last month, NewJeans announced at a press conference, “We will terminate our exclusive contract with ADOR as of Nov. 29, and continue our activities independently, free from HYBE and ADOR.”
In response, ADOR stated, “The exclusive contract is valid until Jul. 31, 2029,” and filed a lawsuit confirming its validity with the Seoul Central District Court on the 3rd.
