The idol group NewJeans made advance payments at four restaurants and cafes near the National Assembly on the afternoon of the 14th in Yeouido, Seoul, to support participants of the rally calling for President Yoon Suk-yeol's impeachment. Not only NewJeans fans but also fans of other idols can enjoy the prepaid food and beverages.
On this day, NewJeans created a new Instagram account, posting, "A small gift for Bunnies (NewJeans fans) and K-pop fans." They also noted that with just a cheering stick, food and drinks can be obtained under the name "Bunnies" at four places offering gimbap, samgyetang, cold noodles, and cafes.
The food prepaid by NewJeans includes 110 servings of gimbap, 100 drinks, 100 bowls of samgyetang, 50 bowls of onban, 50 bowls of mandu-guk, 50 americano, 50 five-grain lattes, and 50 green tangerine teas.
In the accompanying video, NewJeans member Minji said, "It's really cold in Korea right now. We've prepared a little something so you all can have a warm meal, so make sure to eat your meals."
Hyein said, "We are cheering for many idol fans who are making efforts and coming together to participate in the rally," adding, "We prepared this (advance payment) in hopes it will somehow help, so take care of yourselves and let's stay strong together!"
Previously, singer IU stated through a notice on the official fan cafe, "In hopes that the cold hands of UAENA (IU fandom name) who are attending the rally holding 'Ike' (IU cheering stick) and brightly lighting up around them would get a bit warmer, we prepared food and heat packs."
Yuri, a member of Girls' Generation, made an advance payment at a snack bar near Dangsan Station, close to the National Assembly. Yuri left a message saying, "Everyone, eat gimbap and get full tomorrow. Stay safe and healthy. Try singing 'Into the New World' well."
