Jungkook of BTS won two awards at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs), one of America's three major music award ceremonies.
On the 13th, Jungkook received the Top K-pop Album award for his solo studio album 'Golden' and the Top Global K-pop Song award for its title track 'Standing Next to You' at the 2024 BBMAs.
Last year, Jungkook won the Top Global K-pop Song award at the BBMAs with 'Seven,' making it the second consecutive year he has received the same award.
Jungkook was also nominated for the Top Song Sales Artist and Top Selling Song awards, but did not secure a win.
Released in November last year, 'Golden' entered the Billboard 200, the U.S. Billboard main album chart, at No. 2 and remained on the chart for 24 consecutive weeks. This marks the longest charting period for a Korean solo artist's album.
'Standing Next to You' debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Jungkook's sixth solo song to enter the Hot 100.
Following 'Seven' and '3D,' 'Standing Next to You' also made it onto the Hot 100, making Jungkook the first Korean solo artist to have three songs in the Hot 100's top 10.
Meanwhile, BTS, of which Jungkook is a member, first connected with the BBMAs by winning the Top Social Artist award in 2017. BTS continued to win this category annually until 2021.
