Director Christopher Nolan's film "The Odyssey," which surpassed 10 million moviegoers, is continuing a long run at the box office, holding the No. 1 spot for 37 straight days since its release.
According to the Korean Film Council's integrated computer network on the 11th, "The Odyssey" drew about 64,000 moviegoers the previous day (47.5% of total sales), taking the top spot at the box office.
Released on the 5th of last month, "The Odyssey" held the top spot for 37 consecutive days through the previous day. The cumulative audience is about 10,333,000.
In second place was the horror film "Obsession," which was seen by about 27,000 people the previous day (17.5% of total sales).
"Obsession" is a film about a man who has an unrequited crush on a coworker and wishes on a stick that grants wishes for the coworker to love him, after which horrific events unfold.
"Spider-Man: Brand New Day" drew about 12,000 people the previous day (6.5% of total sales) to rank third. The cumulative audience is about 8,845,000.
"The Drama," starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson and released on the 9th, mobilized about 7,000 people to place fourth, while Director Na Hong-jin's "HOPE" ranked fifth with about 4,000.
"The Odyssey" is also holding the lead in advance sales. As of 9 a.m. that day, the advance sales share for "The Odyssey" was 40.6%, ranking No. 1.
Director Heo Jin-ho's "Assassin(s)," opening on the 23rd, ranked second in advance sales at 8.9% (about 56,000 tickets reserved), and the remake "The Intern," starring Han So-hee and Choi Min-sik and opening on the 16th, ranked third at 8.5% (about 53,000).
