Veteran comedian Yu Seong (birth name Yu Jong-su), who was active on shows including MBC "Smile and you'll be blessed," has died. He was 88.
According to the Korea Broadcasting Comedians Association on the 31st, Yu Seong died this morning.
Born in 1938, Yu Seong was a veteran comedian who, along with the late Gu Bong-seo, Song Hae, and Nam Seong-nam, led Korea's comedy scene. He was listed as member No. 8 of the Korea Broadcasting Comedians Association.
Yu Seong appeared on popular comedy programs of the time, including MBC "Hooray for youth" and "Smile and you'll be blessed," and KBS 2TV "Cheerful theater" and "Humor No. 1," bringing laughter to viewers.
The wake has been set up in Room 8 of the funeral hall at Gyeonggi-do Medical Center Suwon Hospital in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province. The funeral will be held at 6:30 a.m. on Sept. 2, and the burial site is Suwon Seunghwawon.
