Group BTS set a new personal best, logging cumulative revenue of about 600 billion won through its world tour "Arirang" (ARIRANG).
On the 27th (local time), U.S. music outlet Billboard said BTS posted $102.5 million (about 141.5 billion won) in revenue from the "Arirang" tour on the 11th.
Accordingly, BTS ranked No. 2 on Billboard's July Top Tours chart. No. 1 went to the Weeknd, who recorded $124.4 million (about 171.7 billion won) in revenue over the same period.
According to label BigHit Music, BTS held eight shows in July, while the Weeknd took the stage 16 times, double that. The point was that BTS posted a similar level of revenue with half as many shows.
Billboard introduced BTS as the third act in history to surpass $100 million in monthly tour revenue over multiple months, following Beyoncé and Bad Bunny.
All of the concerts BTS held on the 11th also made the top 10 of Billboard's Top Boxscores.
The show at Stade de France in Paris, France ranked third, while performances at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, United Kingdom; Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany; and King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels, Belgium placed fifth to seventh, respectively.
According to Billboard, by the 11th of this month BTS had staged 38 "Arirang" shows in total, posting $433.2 million (about 598 billion won) in revenue. Tickets sold reached 2.3 million.
A BigHit Music official said, "Considering that the 'Arirang' tour is scheduled to continue into the first half of next year, revenue and results will far surpass past records."
